Regular Season Round 6: Zabiny Brno - SBS Ostrava 70-73

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss ofZabiny Brno (3-1) at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were edged by second ranked SBS Ostrava (5-1) 73-70 . It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Zabiny Brno. SBS Ostrava made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. It was a good game for Croatian forward Iva Belosevic (185-1997, college: UTRGV) who led her team to a victory with 17 points and 7 rebounds. American guard Oliana Squires (175-1998, college: Montana St.) contributed with 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. SBS Ostrava's coach Iveta Raskova used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Greek power forward Artemis Spanou (186-1993, college: RMU) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 18 rebounds and the former international guard Petra Zaplatova (175-1991) added 11 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) in the effort for Zabiny Brno. SBS Ostrava maintains second position with 5-1 record behind leader USK Praha. Zabiny Brno at the other side keeps the third place with one game lost. They share the position with KP Brno.
